NATURE OF THE FIELD OF STUDY

The Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) program is a four-year course that focuses on the study of tourism as a dynamic industry and a driver of economic, social, and cultural development. It encompasses the principles and practices of tourism planning, marketing, operations, and management, with emphasis on service excellence, sustainability, and cultural awareness. The program prepares students for diverse career opportunities by equipping them with the competencies needed to manage tourism enterprises, develop tourism destinations, and deliver quality experiences in both local and global contexts.

The BSTM program is delivered using the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach by aligning all teaching and learning activities with clearly defined learning outcomes that reflect the knowledge, skills, and attitudes graduates are expected to demonstrate. The curriculum is industry-relevant by embedding tourism trends, sustainable practices, and global standards. A learner-centered approach to teaching through experiential learning, field trips, simulations, and industry immersions is applied. The program uses real-world scenarios to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving.
